There are so many ways you can choose to capture your team for their profile pictures – straight to camera with a white background, straight to camera with a black background and for both of these settings you can either choose colour or monochrome. You can document them naturally with a reportage style shot of them doing what they do best or choose to creatively angle a pose away from the lens OR staff can capture themselves away from the office knee deep in their hobby on their mobile phone. I have seen so many amazing profile pictures which tick all three of these boxes lately and one thing I know for sure is that there is no right or wrong way to show off the lifeblood of your company. Diving into the heart of what you do draws customers and clients into your world; it tells a story and that’s why I believe reportage/candid/creative and real emotion is my way forward. My strengths lie in connecting with people and easing them into a natural moment – within their space, their environment. Get creative – office based photos at your computer can be interesting with you at the heart of the photo and there may be other locations/sites you haven’t considered. It’s all about engagement not filmset locations. There are many of you now required to capture the ‘new normal’ of staff in the work place, but whatever the changing landscape of 2020 why not try a new style of natural photography to embrace the people you trust, admire and couldn’t run your business without?
